What you are about to read is the honest to God truth the best I can tell it. On February 9th 2024 my wife and I found our 24 year old daughter deceased. We called 911 and the EMS & LCSO arrived very quick. Upon arrival Sgt. Dean came to the top of the hill and started talking to me.He asked if I had any narcan and I replied we do but it is to late she is already gone.He stated he would go upstairs and see if there was anything he could do ,he summoned the Ems Lady and they together proceeded to go to her apt. upstairs. As I  was standing there 2 men came running around my truck and one of them was asking for David. He then stopped in front of me and started frisking me.I asked what the H___ he was doing.He continued to frisk me and pulled my pants to my  ankles and that left me naked from the waist down to my ankles.I asked him who the F___ do you think you are I had no idea he was a deputy as it was dark and he had on solid black clothing and blue jeans as I remember.He told me to sit down and shut up never identifying himself as a LC deputy. I asked him again who the F___ do you think you are .He replied I said set down and shut up I will not tell you again.Not knowing he was a deputy I started to ask him again who the F---he thought he was but I did not get it out as he grabbed me choked me unconscious and as I  was coming to he was hollering quit resisting.I was never resisting as I was unconscious and could comply with id demands because I did not hear them until I was coming to.He then said give me your hands.I said I cannot give you my hands because you have your knee in my back.He removed my hands from underneath me and proceded to hand cuff me. He then walked me about 100 yds to the cruiser with my pants down in front of my kids ,my friends, and my church members and showing everything I had instead of pulling my pants up and then walk me down the hill.He interrogated me while walking down the hill asking me questions without reading me my marinda rights. We got to the bottom of the hill and I asked for the officer in charge, a State Trooper and the Sheriff.  Sgt Dean came around the door and stated I am the officer in charge and the first thing lets do is pull up your pants.The deputy lied in his report saying he never pulled my pants down and he never walked me to the cruiser with my pants down.Thank God for cell phones because my son videoed it and we have a copy on the cell phone.He continued to arrest me charged me with assaulting a police officer,resisting arrest,menacing ,disorderly conduct and disturbing the piece.He in my opinion made up these charges because he knew he had messed up and he had to make these charges up against me to avoid a lawsuit.The real reason in my opinon is he felt disrespected,talked down to because I talked to him like that in front of his ride along.My opinon he thought you are not gonna talk to me like that in front of my ride along he got mad,and angry and he acted out of anger. Now all this happened 17 minutes after I found my daughter deceased. I was in a very bad state of mind. Now the part of why I said Shawn Hines is not the man I thought he was. I waited about two to three weeks to talk to Shawn because I had known him all my life and I wanted him to know the real story. I respected Shawn at one time and I thought he was a good person but in my opinon he has been there too long as a police officer and he thinks he is above the law. Anyway I get an appointment to talk to Shawn and I go meet him at his office and start by saying Shawn I do not know where to start but I will just tell you what really happened.He said before you start let me say I support him 100% and if it had me I would have did the same thing.We all know how hot headed you are. I said hot headed Shawn I had just found my daughter dead how was supposed to act.He arrested me you did not do an investigation.He did not read me my rights and he did not follow procedure at all. Shawn stated I did an investigation and said who did you talk to and he said I talked to my deputies and that is all I need to talk to.And he stated about him reading you your rights he rared back in his chair and laughed in my face and said you been watching to much TV we do not have to read you your rights.I said well Shawn there is no need me talking to you you have already got your mind made up he said I do and further more I volunteered to take you to jail myself that night.He stated to me he thought he has done a pretty good job we only had 17 people die of an overdose last year in LC.I said well Shawn I don't think you have done anything and I would not brag about 17 people dying in 1 year. He says well that's your opinion and let me say this you didn't do anything to get me elected you are a Democrat I said Shawn you are right I didn't do anything to help you win but you can bet your sweet A__ I will do everything I can to get you beat the next time.He says you can't get me beat I have done too good of a job.I stated to him I didn't think he had done anything and I left. I sued the LCSO in federal court and we should go to trial around May or June so stay posted and I will keep everyone informed how it turns out........Now you know what kind of man you have as a Sheriff He is willing to let his deputies falsely write reports Lie and do anything it takes to cover up the truth and while I am writing this I would like to Thank You Shawn fo getting my Facebook page taken down for telling the truth.
